The platforms changed.
The responsibility didn’t.

I am Anil Pahwa — a journalist with more than two decades across print and digital media. Today I work as Deputy News Editor with the Punjab Kesari Group, with editorial responsibilities for Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.

The journey

From a local cable network
to a digital newsroom

My journalism began at the grassroots — reading the news for a local cable network, then reporting for the evening newspaper Encounter.

Every stage added something. The cable network taught me presentation. Reporting taught me how to find the story. Newspapers taught me newsroom discipline. Digital media taught me to adapt.

And experience taught me that journalism is ultimately about trust.

The podcast

Baatein..!

with Anil Pahwa

News tells us what happened. Conversations help us understand why it happened, what it means and what comes next.

Baatein..! is my platform for conversations with political personalities, public figures and voices from different walks of life. The idea is simple: ask questions, listen carefully, understand different perspectives.

Every conversation has a story.

Conversations cover

  • Politics and public life
  • Punjab and its issues
  • Jammu & Kashmir
  • Society and social change
  • The stories behind headlines

On the ground

Punjab and
Jammu & Kashmir

As part of my editorial responsibilities, I work closely with news coverage across Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.

Both regions carry their own political, social and cultural dynamics, and covering them requires more than following the day’s headlines. It requires understanding the people, the ground realities and the issues that shape public life.

That approach continues to guide my work.

Beyond journalism

Using the reach of media for social good

The media can bring attention to issues that would otherwise go unheard. Alongside my professional work, I remain involved with social causes and initiatives that create awareness and contribute positively to the community.

News informs. Conversations connect.
Social action creates impact.
